Course Description: The refresher training provides an overview of the broad concepts incorporated into the Iowa Disease Surveillance System as well as details necessary for daily use. The course is intended for laboratory, infection control, and local public health staff that already attended a new user training session (offered during 2007), but are interested in a review. This session does not include the hands-on module that will be a part of the new user training session, but does allow for a question and answer portion not offered in the on-line training. Training Objectives: •Provide an overview of the Iowa Disease Surveillance System (IDSS) •Prepare users for the re-launch of IDSS •Answer participant questions regarding the system’s functionality •Discuss the new system enhancements Prerequisites: Participants must complete the IDSS New User Training before taking this course. Target Audience: LPHA staff, Laboratorians, and ICPs or anyone who has taken an IDSS course but feel they need additional instruction on the system.
