Course Overview This training is being sponsored by Region 2 and the Wright Medical Center, Clarion, IA The training will cover IS-100-HC, IS-200-HC and IS-700a. Introduction to the Incident Command System for Healthcare/Hospitals, introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) as it applies to the healthcare/hospital environment and provides the foundation for higher level ICS training. This course describes the history, features and principles, and organizational structure of the Incident Command System. This training introduces and overviews the National Incident Management System (NIMS). NIMS provide a consistent nationwide template to enable all government, private-sector, and nongovernmental organizations to work together during domestic incidents. Course Objectives: At the end of this course, you should be able to: • Demonstrate basic knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS). • Describe the ICS organization appropriate to the complexity of the incident or event. Use the ICS to manage an incident or event. • Describe the intent of NIMS, the key concepts and principles underlying NIMS and the purpose of the National Integration Center • Describe the purpose of the NIMS Components including: Preparedness, Communications and Information Management, Resource Management, and Command and Management.
