This training provides an overview of the Emergency Support Functions (ESF) structure and commom elements of the ESF as it relates to hospitals and public health agencies.

•Describe the purpose of the National Response Framework
•Describe what an Emergency Support Function is and how it affects planning federal and state planning
•Describe how the State of Iowa and the Iowa Department of Public Health are utilizing the ESF format
•List one benefit to the Emergency Support Function format
